Buying a Property
Step by step: from searching to registration in the Public Registry.
Start with a budget
Define your maximum budget and plan for additional costs in advance — registration fee, possible renovation work, and utility bills.
Check the Public Registry extract
Always request a fresh Public Registry extract before buying. Make sure the seller is the real owner and the property has no seizure, mortgage, or pending claim.
Inspect the property
View the property in person: check utilities, flooring, windows, and the building's condition. Ask neighbours and, for new builds, research the developer.
Contract and registration
The contract is signed and ownership is registered at the Public Registry (House of Justice). Pay securely — preferably by bank transfer after the registration is confirmed.
